Sonos is about to launch a new speaker into its range, code named ‘S13′!  The device was found by an American website after crawling the Federal Communications Commissioner’s website. The FCC is an american goverment agency that regulated interstate communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable.

The listing states Sonos S13 will be a:

High-performance all-in-one wireless smart speaker and part of Sonos’ home sound system. S13 adds integrated voice control functionality with far field microphones. Moreover, the device will support multiple voice platforms and music services, allowing customers to effortlessly control their music on Sonos

We already know Sonos is integrating Alexa ( See Sonos Article ) and working on integrating other voice assistants so this is no big surprise.

We love the idea of being able to control all your virtual assistants from one device, for example:

“Hey Google”
“Siri”
“Alexa”

Normally we would expect this to be announced soon and be released in time for Christmas 2017.
However the FCC filing does state confidentially on details, like product photos, until February 24th 2018.

This makes us wonder if a release is planned in time for CES 2018 .
We have asked Amazon and Sonos for a comment and will update you if we receive any further information.

Update – 30/08/2017

Just after this leak went live Sonos sent an invite for a press event on 4th October 2017 in New York.

The big clue on the invite is a big pair of lips, obviously referring to voice.
Sadly no UK press event but we will update as soon there is an announcement.

PS. You can buy new Sonos products from Amazon UK, starting at around £100.
