Google has commented it is considering bringing Nest back into the Google family.

Nest, the smart home thermostat and security solution company, is currently part of Alphabet. Alphabet is the parent company of Google and was created in October 2015 after corporate restructuring. The idea was this would allow Google and Nest to develop quicker and independently yet still have integrations with each other.

Nest could potentially rejoin the Google Hardware team, the same team that released Google Home and Google Wifi. Nest currently has 1,000 employees and recently released a competitor to Rings Video Doorbell.

Google purchases Nest for $3.2 Billion in 2014 then there was little Smart Home competition however now it seems every manufacture wants a share of the smart pie!

Nest and Google rejoining forces would give them a stronger position to try and over throw Amazons tech invasion.
