Ring, the leaders in video doorbells, have released their video preview feature in the UK.
This allows you to quickly see a preview of the live video as a static image in the app. The frequency of updating the image depends on how the device is powered. This is done to not drain power if battery operated.
The feature has been available in USA since April 2018 with a gradual global roll out.
To enable the feature in UK:
1. Open the app, click the menu – top left
2. Click ‘new feature’ from the bottom of the menu
3. Swipe enable
4. Confirm you wish to enable the feature
You will now see preview tiles of the video stream in the app dashboard.
