Amazon announced an exciting update to Alexa today, Alexa Calling.

Alexa calling will come to all Amazon Echo’s and allows user to call and message between devices as well as between the Alexa App. In a very similar way to Apple iMessage however message will be read to the user.
“You’ll hear a chime when you have a new message, and a green light ring will appear on your device,”
One unique feature is the ability to ‘drop in’, this allows users to come through to your Echo without you even accepting it.
This feature does need enabling and amazon we’re eager to point it’s designed for he very closes members of your family and and gave an example of checking up on elderly relatives.
