UNO: The first cross device type-C USB cable now fully funded on Kickstarter.

We know what you are thinking… this is not the first type-C USB magnetic cable. What makes UNO different is it has adapters for Lightning, Micro USB and Type-C. All connected via powerful neodymium magnets that are strong enough to hold an iPad Air!

Unlike existing magnetic charger cables, UNO claim the magnets have been positioned to allow easy connection. Even if the tip is flipped 180°.

The cable supports QC4.0 and Apple fast charge allowing you to quickly charge your smart tech. As well as full USB 2.0 data transfer speeds of up to 480 Mbps.

To overcome the frustrating fray issue most cable owners are familiar with the cable is wrapped in anti-fray material.

ASAP Technologies are so confident in their cable they offer a full 10-year warranty! Longer than most people have their smart phone.

The cable is available now with guaranteed July shipping. Pledges, not prices as Kickstarter, start at £16.

If you haven’t heard of Oval it is a smart home sensor that monitors and detects changes in motion, temperature, humidity, light and water.

Recently Oval 2.0 has been launched on Kickstarter, if your wonder here are the key differences between Oval 1.0 and Oval 2.0.

Design
The unit has been redesigned, based on feedback and to improve functionality

Smart Home Connectivity
Oval 2.0 can talk to your other smart home tech, including Amazon Alex and Google Home. It can also connect to hundreds of other devices via IFTTT. This allows you to create your own applets.

Longer battery life
The new firmware uses Zigbee so power consumption is dramatically improved. Oval is now also shipped with higher capacity batteries.

Multiple Location Support
Control multiple Ovals in different locations on one account. Great for holiday home owners or keeping an eye on your lock up.

Included Water Sensor

You can now use the water sensor out of the box with no extra purchase required.

Wireless Gateway

Ovals gateway is now wireless, allowing it to be placed where you need it.

Mesh capabilities

Add multiple gateways to create a mesh network to improve performance and range

Oval 2.o is currently on Kickstarter with an aim to ship in November 2018.

Oval digital today announced the launch of their latest smart sensor Oval 2.0

If you have not heard of Oval it’s a Smart Sensor startup from New York. They launched in 2017 with great reviews and have since been sold in 32 countries.

Their smart wireless sensor alerts you if it detects a range of triggers from motion to temperature. Making any area or object smarter.

Oval 2.0 has taken their smart sensor to the next level. Connecting it to the rest of the smart home, including Nest, Ring, Alexa and IFTTT. Allowing you to ask Alexa the temperature in the bedroom or use Oval as a trigger in IFTTT.

Mike Harry, CEO of OVAL Digital Inc, commented:

“No two homes, or people, are alike, and OVAL was created with this in mind. After our initial release, we spent the year speaking to our customers all over the world, learning how they were using OVAL around the home and asking how we could improve our smart sensor to provide even more value to our customers. OVAL 2.0 is the result of both customer feedback and the latest technology available.”

The Oval app has also been given a big overall and includes new features like real-time view and analytics to spot patterns.

Oval 2.0 is available for pre-order today via Kickstarter

This is the second generation of an impressive sounding gadget that could revolutionize washing your clothes as it uses no detergent or washing powders. You just need to place Washwow in a bowl of water with the clothes.

WashwowThe deep clean is achieved by electrolysis, removing grease or stains within 20 minutes use as well as killing 99.98 of bacteria! (This has been proved by independent tests – we have seen the paperwork)

No Chemicals
Washwow 2.0 uses no chemicals so is a much more environmentally friendly way to clean as well as friendlier on fabrics.

We have all had an annoying washing mishap where a favourite top has been destroyed thanks to the wrong type of powder or cycle – hopefully Washwow will fix this.

Silent washing
As Washwow works with electrolysis it is totally silent, making it good for last minute late night washes when your machine would wake the neighbours.

Wireless Power
Washwow charges with Qi wireless charging, the same tech in the new range of iPhones, making it easy to use it without the need for power cables.

This all sounds exciting to us, who doesn’t like to make a chore like washing easier and better?!

We will update you once we have managed to get our hands on one to try it out for ourselves.

For more information have a look at their website: www.washwow.net or buy yours via KickStarter at the time of writing early bird prices were still available.

What could make a cocktail better?! How about a smart machine that makes it for you 😊

Meet iBar – the new smart solution to all your cocktail woes.  iBar is a portable bar tender that can hold 12 different ingredients and mix you the perfect cocktail. This includes shaking it!

As well as making you a drink it is also a portable Bluetooth speaker with built in LED lighting for parties, not forgetting it also has 2 USB sockets to charge your devices.

Accompanying the iBar is an app that contains over 1,000 different cocktails for you to easily make at the press of a button. Navigation of the app can be done via name, ingredient or category.

iBar will come in a choice of 5 different colours and amazingly also self cleans?!

ibar
This appears to be a very impressive addition to any smart home or party. We can’t wait to get our hands on it and sample how good the cocktails really are!

As always this is on Kick starter so caution is advised. iBar is currently at prototype stage.

For more information or to back them have a look at their Kickstarter or their website.

Lay-Z-Spa™ owners can now make their Lazy Spa’s Smart, thanks to a new product – Smart-E-Spa!

Smart-E-Spa easily connects to your Spa allowing you to control it from anywhere on your smart phone, via their app.

Smart-E-Spa also allows you to setup intelligent schedules that adapt to how long it takes to heat your Spa. For example if it’s a cold winters day it will adapt the schedule as it will take longer to heat compared to a summers day.

Going beyond automation its other function is designed to allow you to save energy and monitor energy usage.

Currently we have no details on price or when the product will ship. However it is going live on Kickstarter soon.

Watch this space for more details as we receive them or take a look at their website: https://www.smart-e-spa.com

Flipp by SYNT the unofficial, crowd funded, Sonos remote has hit a hurdle.

Flipp launched an exciting campaign on Kickstarter promising to revolutionise how we interact with Sonos. Making it “Beautiful and simple”. They raised 335,650 DK from 356 backers.

The idea sounded pretty exciting and very different to how Sonos users at that time interacted with their Sonos. No longer requiring phone unlocking or opening apps.

Flipp was supposed to start delivery in November 2017.

Fast forward to today and Sonos is now supported by Alexa allowing easy voice control, as is widgets allowing quick easy access to music on IOS. Sadly it seems Flipp’s niche might have been filled or at the least got a lot smaller.

Flipp commented to their supporters via Kickstarter:

It is with a lot of regret we are informing you that at this stage we will not be able to meet our goal of bringing the Flipp Remote to market within the promised timeline. Despite the fact that you have been very patient and supportive of our efforts we have encountered a number of extraordinary challenges, and can no longer keep our original delivery timeline and are uncertain at this point exactly when we will start shipping. We have encountered several major setbacks in terms of production and procurement and even though we are certain we can find a solution it means significant delays for the entire project.

However they do still plan on eventually releasing Flipp adding further comment:

As a company we will strive to do everything we can to make sure Flipp is released.
It’s important you understand at this point we have no set date for the delivery of the product.

We will follow their development and keep you informed of how it develops.

Senic has launched Covi on Kickstarter, a lamp that doubles up as a smart voice hub.

The hub comes Amazon Alexa enabled however they aim to add more options post funding in 218.

One of the most exciting and indeed unique features is the fact it’s powered by Open Source – Home Assist. This means it will work with potentially any echo system, rather than locking into only one. However its worth noting they are not associated with Home Assist.

Covi allows you to use your voice to control your smart home, without the need for an ugly controller. This is the first time we have seen a controller disguised as an everyday object and we like the idea!
Covi is available to pre-order now and starts from an impressive £87 – they aim to raise £66k.

We have stumbled across another Kickstarter,  this time for an artificial intelligent hub that controls your smart home.

Meet Momo – Your Intelligent Smart Home Assistant.

Momo does three key things:

1. Standalone security system – Boasting facial recognition and sound sensors!
2. Smart home super hub – Controlling/automating your existing smart tech
3. Artificial intelligence assistant –Learning your habits and ‘environmental preferences’

The idea being it interacts with your smart home for you making it smarter and easier.

The list of integrations is very impressive, the only one we see missing is Stringify:
Momo works withWe like the look of Momo, especially the facial recognition. This is something we have wanted to see for a long time in home security tech, it means for example the window cleaner will no longer set off an alarm or trigger an event.

The project requires $45,000 and with only 30 days to go has raised nearly half. If this sounds like something your interested in here is the Kickstarter link:

FetchitGo is a pad with multiple buttons you can set to control your Smart Home tech. Created by a company called Tantiv4.

Think old fashioned kitchen pad meets Smart Home via Kickstarter and you are almost there.
The idea is you write next to each button what you set it to do, you then press the button, swipe the bottom of the pad and the action is done.

For example, making coffee via a connected Smart Coffee machine:

FetchitGo
You can also connect it to your IFTTT applets – one button press to execute any connected IFTTT applet.
The concept is interesting and not like anything we have seen before so we’re pleased they managed to get over 100% of their goal. $55,154 when their target was $50,000.

For those who backed via Kickstarter shipping should start 27th June 2017 according to their latest update.

For everyone else there is no availability date listed – we have emailed them to try and find out and will update you when we hear more.
