For me the best thing is the range of bulbs that IKEA offer, GU14 and e27 to name a few that are not offered but Phillips, I am fed up with asking their customer support when they intend to release other bulb fittings only to be told for years that it is intended at some point. In truth I bought Phillips over IKEA as I thought IKEA wouldnt be up to the job, now I own both systems I can now see that IKEA have got it every bit as good as Phillips and to be honest I will no longer buy any more Phillips accessories and will eventually turn off the Phillips system in favour of IKEA. Sorry Phillips but you have just been too slow to react to your customers requests

It all depends how it’s done, but your right the biggest advantage is a cheaper white bulb – for where you don’t need colour but want automation. Follow us on twitter & Facebook as will update as we hear/find more!

I figure that once firmware upgrades for Ikea bulbs are released you’d need the Ikea gateway anyway to upgrade it…. The main advantage of the Ikea bulbs I’d like is the adjustable colour temperature at a lower price point than the Ambiance White Hue bulbs.

If possible to use a 3rd party hue emulator that act as proxy for Philips Hue and Ikea Tradfri and can control both from all Hue applications
